"As a fantasy writer, it can be difficult to hand over an entire world of your creation for critique. Keith made the process painless; he saw to the core of my characters and story and offered such nuanced, spot-on interpretations of each that I was blown away. He offered useful recommendations of how to nudge my story to the next level without coming across as pushy or righteous, and was always open to discussing any points on which I wanted clarity. My novel is so much stronger for having been in the care of such an insightful and genuinely pleasant editor."

"Working with Keith Morrill from Little City Editing was the greatest pleasure. He not only edited my two paranormal romance books, but delved into them and really got to know my characters. His attention to detail was phenomenal. He went above and beyond the call of mere editor more than once. His suggestions were brilliant and never pushy, but delivered with gentleness. He has a keen eye for spotting the sneakiest mistakes and will fix things you didn't even realize needed fixing. In addition to his edits within the manuscript, his thorough editorial letters were invaluable. Not to mention the amazing style sheet he includes in his service. It is so handy, and I'll reference it for years to come. In addition to his amazing editing skills, he also brainstorms ways to promote your book with you. You're getting so much more than an editor with Keith. He improved not only my manuscript, but my writing abilities. I'll be forever thankful I discovered him, and you will be, too."

Keith Morrill is an exceptional editor. Throughout the editing process, Keith assured me and fostered an increasing sense of confidence in his abilities. The moment I opened the edited manuscript in Word, his effort blinded me with its color-coded brilliance. Correspondence during the process was swift and concise; Keith answered the largest and the smallest of questions and addressed the largest and the smallest of concerns. Above all, Keith engaged in a discussion about editing choices, rather than berating the writer (me) for not perfectly aligning with his choices. He’s not married to his edits, and has the foresight to flow within the river of the writer’s style instead of fighting against the current by ripping the prose to shreds. After the editing was complete, the only question I was left with was: “How and when could I fit in Keith’s services again?”

"Working with Keith was smooth and easy. He was thorough and knows what he's talking about. He went through my manuscript with a fine tooth comb and improved it into something of much greater value. His knowledge of the finer elements of editing is excellent. In fact, I'm kind of hoping you don't use his service so that he's available for my next book."

I had the pleasure of working with Keith Morrill on my last book, A Wave From Mama.  Keith completed a final proof for me and I was so impressed with his attention to detail, professionalism, and the quality of his work.  While I contracted with Keith for a proofreading project, it was clear to me that his general editorial skills were excellent.

"Keith is a great editor to work with, as he does an amazing job at fine-tuning your manuscript. He is able to correct and detect the smallest errors and details that can so often be overlooked or taken for granted. His work is consistent throughout, and he even takes the time to do research on various elements to ensure accuracy of his recommendations.

He worked with me on my manuscript, and the end result was something akin to beautiful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him, as his skills as an editor are superb, but it is his work ethic sets him apart from other editors, as he gives each client his full attention and time, and it's his ability to work with you, even if it’s just to brainstorm, truly sets him apart from other editors I’ve worked with in the past."

Keith provided much-needed guidance for me since Fast Draw was my first manuscript. I couldn't have done it without him. Many of his ideas I liked and used, and I believe they will make a difference to the reader. His copyediting was thorough, and I would recommend him highly to any writer of any level. Hire him if you can!

I’ve worked with Keith Morrill from Little City Editing on a wide variety of projects so far and he never fails to impress. As an erotica author, I was hesitant about having a male editor, but he tackled the sensitive material like the professional he is. I feel confident that whatever genre I decide to venture into, he’ll have the skills to edit it. His attention to detail is unmatched. If he gets his hands on your manuscript, you can expect it to get the five-star treatment. His edits and suggestions are always kind and never pushy. I love knowing my style won’t be butchered when in his care. I’m a hard-working author and I want an equally hard-working editor. That’s what I’ve found in Keith.

  • Wishes of Fire, Loretta Chefchaouni (YA fantasy novel)
I loved, loved, loved working with Keith on editing my novel. This is my first completed novel, and needless to say, I was nervous to turn my baby over to be scrutinized. I had no idea if editing would be a fine-tuning process or a slice and dice butcher experience. When I requested samples from a few editors, Keith immediately stood out from the bunch, both in the quality of his work and in his  professional and amicable manners. He put me at ease, and I felt right away that this was someone I could trust to really care about my work and help me make it the best it could be.

I was not disappointed. Keith’s work is thorough and thoughtful. He knows his stuff, and he takes the time to explain and brainstorm, addressing issues at every level from story development to sentence structure. I’m so happy with the care my novel received in his hands. Keith made editing feel like cutting and polishing a diamond to its shiniest perfection.

  • Excalibur Unearthed, Kelly Barina (fantasy novel)
I couldn’t be happier with editor Keith Morrill’s work on my novel. Not only is he very respectful and mindful of the author’s vision for the piece, he is very insightful. He helped me smooth out my novel and tackle all of my plot holes, bringing up situations and problems that I hadn’t considered. If something in my story didn’t work, he would offer suggestions, brainstorming with me until a solution was found. His grammar corrections and plot suggestions strengthened my story, and I’m confident that now I can begin to pursue publication because of his work. He is extremely knowledgeable and very prompt, always meeting his deadlines and giving timely updates. It was such a pleasure working with such a precise and meticulous editor like Keith."

  • Circus of the Sun, J. Macon King (literary novel)
"Submitting a manuscript without a read by a professional editor is like on your child’s first
day of kindergarten, turning her over to the stern, busy principal, rather than to the
exuberant welcoming teacher.

Editor Keith Morrill did a splendid job editing my first novel. He covered the pesky details
of grammar and punctuation with thoroughness while letting the experimental sections of my book run free. His comment bubbles were insightful and provided new perspective, e.g.:

'Would deepening the moment help?' and 'Would it be beneficial to establish a greater sense of physical space?' All were provided with courtesy, promptness and good cheer.

I found Keith astute and a pleasure to work with. I look forward to finishing my next novel so I can turn her over to Keith."

"Writing is often a solitary activity, and when it comes time to send a story out it is hard to find someone you trust to help with editing.  Both with regard to the little stuff - the careless errors that are easily overlooked - and the bigger-picture issues that require more imaginative wrestling, Keith Morrill is as helpful as they come!  His approach is respectful of the author's vision, productive, and sharp.  He has a master's eye."

"Even an editor needs a second pair of eyes, so before I published my own book, I turned to Keith Morrill, a careful, precise editor. Keith caught errors that saved me embarrassment and made suggestions that improved my book. I would recommend him without hesitation."

"Keith is an editorial magician. Every time I receive material back from him I am not only amazed by his grammatical prowess but by his deep understanding of the mechanics of good writing. He can see what needs reworking, how and why, and his tactful notes guide you towards your best writing, allowing your own voice to find its fullness. We’ve also had the good fortunate to feature his original work in State 14, our digital magazine. Thanks to his contributions as a talented writer and editor, we’ve put forward a professional publication we can be proud of."
